I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. Also, I think some of the director’s films are very good, and think others are wonderful.
Matt Dillon was excellent in There’s Something about Mary.
The first and only movie I’ve ever walked out of was Star Trek II, Wrath of Khan. Those ear worms were somethin’ else. I was 7. Since then I’ve been open to watching anything. I wanted to see if this was going to be the second movie I ever
walked out of.

Did you walk out?

Some did, I did not. I gave it some good
thought
though. Interestingly, it wasn’t early in the movie and at graphic scene
, but rather more than an hour through and at an unassuming scene. With worry regarding
what was
going
to
happen
I thought, “This really isn’t
that
great
. Do I really want to stick around and soil my brain with little
payoff?” I assume others were thinking the same way as s
ome that walked were just 45min from the end.

Personally, i usually have a compulsion to watch movies to the end, and rarely walk out/turn them off. I haven’t seen “Jack”, but i understand walkouts haven’t been uncommon. I’ve watched a few Von Trier movies, so I’ll probably see this one at some point.

I’m the same way. A
nything could happen. Something could happen
that would change the way
I interpret
the movie as a whole. It’s not really fair to the experience
not watch until
the end.

I will admit that I stopped watching Antichrist about half way, due to incoherence. But that was likely exacerbated by my habit of drinking while watching weird movies. I might give it a shot again.
